Crust is a fintech company committed to advancing agricultural prosperity throughout Africa. We achieve this by offering straightforward, innovative, and dependable financial products and services to all participants in the agricultural value chain.
The challenge was to create a brand that visually represented Crust's mission of Partnership, Community and agricultural prosperity in Africa while maintaining a modern and approachable feel. The visual identity needed to incorporate earthy tones and greens to symbolize agriculture and growth, the typography clear and modern, ensuring legibility and professionalism. Imagery should focus on showcasing the vibrancy of African agriculture, featuring diverse people and agricultural landscapes, to connect with the target audience and convey a sense of empowerment and growth.
Crust is built around the idea of interconnected growth within the agricultural ecosystem, inspired by the concept of Ubuntu, the belief that progress is shared and shaped collectively. The core mark is constructed from a series of connected squares, each representing a participant within the value chain. Together, they form an arrow moving forward, symbolising collective progress rather than individual movement. This reflects the idea that each action within the system impacts others, reinforcing Crust’s role in supporting a more connected and interdependent network. The visual system is grounded in agricultural cues but applied with intention. Earth tones anchor the brand in the realities of farming, while green signals growth and sustainability. A vibrant orange introduces energy and visibility, helping the brand stand out while reflecting the environmental context it operates in.
